Delegates at the Planta Europa Confernce

At the 3rd Planta Europa Conference, more than 150 delegates developed the European Plant Conservation Strategy (EPCS), a framework for plant conservation in Europe. In 2002, the EPCS was published and endorsed as a part of, and a contribution to the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC) under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

The EPCS is to be implemented by all European Countries by 2007. The 3rd Planta Europa Conference also marked the official launch of Planta Europa Network membership, with the adoption of membership guidelines, including a fee structure.
